Pan Sonic is a 90s Finnish Electro group. Their sound was formed by a conglomeration of samplers, sequencers, synthesizers and custom-made instruments. At times distorted, grating, like rusty machines turning with factory purpose, the group challenged the very definition of music.
Before releasing their first album, the members participated in experimental sound performances, that experience contributing to their avant-garde approach to music.
Originally named Panasonic, the group faced an obvious copyright infringement in the late 90s and had to change their name. This album, entitle A, was a subtle nod to the copyright dispute, standing for the missing letter in the new name and the term Actionable Copyright Infringement.
